Group B

Planning guide

You are age 35 to 45 and served for 10 to 20 years.

If you choose to stay in the ADF until retirement age (generally 55), you will be entitled to retirement pay at the higher levels offered for your rank. Although you are probably not yet entitled to retirement pay, you will be close to that point.

Discharge options

You must plan for retirement through other sources. You must be proactive now, to ensure your planning can meet your future income needs.

Please consider professional financial advice for your situation.

Resignation options

If you resign and do not elect to preserve your benefit in DFRDB, you lose your chance to receive a valuable DFRDB retirement pay benefit, paid for the rest of your life.
