Planner

You are age 35 to 55 and served for 10 to 20 years. If you stay with DFRDB until retirement age, you will receive more than the minimum offered for your rank.

Please check your potential benefit projection using i-Estimator. If there could be a gap between what you may receive and what you need, consider your options. You may wish to save additional superannuation amounts or build other investments.

The earlier you start, the more likely you are to achieve your goals.

Discharge options

If you leave DFRDB now and do not elect to preserve your benefit, you will lose your DFRDB retirement pay. You may also find it difficult to save enough elsewhere.
